I am just new here.

I am interested in getting the name and, if possible, a little bit more of information about an american black player that played for Happoel Jerusalem a few years ago.

I am not sure about how long ago it was, but probably sometime between 4 and 8 years ago.

He was a beast in the paint, about 6-11/7-0 and really strong. Jumped a lot and loved to block, but was not any big deal in the offense.

Maccabi "Elite" Tel Aviv (Hebrew: מכבי תל-אביב) is a basketball team based in Tel Aviv, Israel. It is part of the Maccabi Tel Aviv sports club, and their main sponsors since 1969 have been the Elite confections company, so Maccabi also carries its name.

The club dominates Israeli basketball, collecting 45 national championship titles (including 23 in a row between 1970 and 1992) and 35 national cups. Maccabi is also among Europe's best basketball teams, having won the European cup 5 times since 1977, and finishing second 6 other times.

Although within Israel there are many fan communities behind Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Jerusalem, Bnei HaSharon, Hapoel Galil Elyon and several others, Maccabi Tel Aviv's is by far the largest, and except for a few hard-core fans of other clubs, almost every Israeli identifies with Maccabi during international competition as representing them. The club became something like second national team, and much more successful than the official one.

Hapoel Tel Aviv is an Israeli basketball club. It is considered the second largest club in Israel in terms of trophies and followers. It was established as part of the Tel Aviv Histadrut branch.

In 1995 it was sold to private businessmen, and since then it has suffered from financial problems which led to its relegation twice to the second division and a boycott by most of its fans, blaming the current owners for the club's poor status.

"Hapoel" (i.e. the worker) Tel Aviv basketball club (Hebrew: מועדון הכדורסל הפועל תל אביב), or "Hapoel" ,is the second largest basketball club in Israel. It was founded in 1935, as part of the Tel Aviv branch of the "Hapoel" sports cooperative, the sports department of the Histadrut labour union. The 15 years following the foundation of the Israeli national league in 1954 are still considered as the golden age in the club's history. During which it has won most of its trophies and risen to become a dominant force in Israeli basketball. However, since then the club has failed to repeat its past success and was forced to watch as its bitter city rivals Maccabi Tel aviv beat them constantly on the race to trophies and European glory.

Hapoel 'Migdal' Jerusalem (הפועל 'מגדל' ירושלים) is a basketball team based in Jerusalem, Israel.

Hapoel Jerusalem was founded in 1943. Hapoel Jerusalem first played in a little court on the Histadroot Street. Next the team moved to play at the YMCA and then finally moved to the only indoor arena at that time: "The Shtraus Arena". In the late 80's Jerusalem moved to play at the Malcha Arena, that contains 3000 seats.

Now Hapoel Jerusalem is known as the second best team in Israeli basketball, after Maccabi Tel Aviv.

In the years 1996 and 1997, Jerusalem Hapoel won two domestic cups in Israel, defeating Maccabi Tel Aviv in the finals, at the Nokia Arena. The team was lead by the team's star and captain Adi Gordon, who's considered the team's symbol and best player ever.

The Israel Basketball Association (IBA) is the official organization in charge of professional basketball in Israel. The organization oversees the regulation of the sport, team and player registration, rules of the game, various official (such referees and statisticians) certification, and more. It is responsible for sanctioning official leagues of play at various levels, issuing the league schedules, and certifying match results. The IBA also handles associations with international bodies like FIBA and the Euroleague.
